Downtown Takeover
Milan Minicon takes over downtown Milan, transforming the entire area into a celebration of pop culture and community. Unlike most conventions tucked away in event centers or hotel lobbies, Milan Minicon is rooted and contextualized in its location, bringing life and energy to the city’s thriving social district filled with food, shopping, and entertainment. We’ve partnered with local businesses to host artists, activities, and family-friendly fun throughout downtown, creating an experience that’s open, engaging, and uniquely Milan. Attendees can explore the FREE festivities spread across town or grab a vendor hall pass for even more exclusive perks.

Frequently Asked Questions - Plan Your Visit with Us!
Is the event free or paid? - Event attendees may freely walk downtown to enjoy the artist alley and food trucks. These come at no cost and are available to everyone. No registration required. Attendees may also choose to purchase an event hall pass which offers access to our curated vendor hall with additional activities. These are available for $5 as an early bird pass or $10 the day of the event.
How do I pay and where do I pay? - Early bird passes will be available at Adventure Ink for $5 or $10 the day of the show at the front desk of the event hall. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to pay early to save 50%. Additionally, all children under age 12 may enter the hall free of charge. We accept debit cards, credit cards, or cash.
Where should I park? - Event parking is available at the Tolan Square lot (directly across from the hardware store), side streets, Wilson park, and The Bridge, our vendor hall partner. If additional parking is needed, guests may choose to explore additional side street parking in nearby neighborhoods at walking distance.
I want to browse vendors, but I don't feel comfortable in a church. - We completely understand. Milan Minicon isn’t a religious event or a ministry outreach. It’s simply hosted in a church building that generously offered their space. Volunteers will be on hand to help guests feel comfortable and safe while exploring the venue. We’re an inclusive, affirming community that welcomes everyone of all races, religions, genders and orientations to attend freely and without fear of judgment.
Who is putting on this event? - Milan Minicon is a collaboration of Whimsical Sprites and Adventure Ink. Our business is collaboratively organized to offer books, magazines, manga, games, toys, handmade trinkets and more! Guests are encouraged to visit Adventure Ink at 108 East Main Street the day of the event or beforehand to pay for an early bird pass.
How do I know I will be safe? - Milan Minicon is organized by volunteers, business owners, city officials, and many others. Police officers will be stationed downtown to provide traffic control at crosswalks and security. In addition to this, event attendees may report acts of violence or inappropriate behavior to volunteers.
